End of August is when these guys start showing up and man do they move fast. Throwing little irons or soft plastics at these things with 15 pound test on a 4000 size real with smooth drag is an absolute blast. If fly fishing is your game, then this boat is perfect for you to get right on top of those fish and be able to drop a fly on them.
My boat will stay down cape at this time and I will run charters out of Bass River in South Yarmouth. The fishing is too good to do anything else. There is also amazing tautog fishing down in that area.
The catamaran is a great boat for getting right on top of these things without blowing them out of the area. A 4 foot by 6 foot platform is on the bow making for an ideal casting platform, making you feel like you can touch down and touch the fish.
The wind usually picks up mid day in the area that is fished which makes this boat uncomfortable, so morning and sunset trips will be most common.
